Through close examination of representative evangelical theologies from ancient time to the late 20th century which can be called successful to express their own faith, we can establish the fact that they has developed their own theological method to grasp theological object. Although these methods and objects are not regarded as such kind of things which can be acquired through common sensual approach, their reality character is not open to question. This fact shows us that theology needs their own methodological understanding which overcomes the boundaries which the spirit of each times impose on the theologians of each generations. Under the influences of postmodernism some evangelical theologian, such as G. Lindbeck, Hans Freies etc, tries to establish the essence of Gospel through a so-called non-foundational method. His cultural-linguistic approach earns two different evaluations; as the first reaction to this conception it can be introduced that some theologians gives him an applause for his effort to represent the gospel in an non-metaphysical model. According to them this way of explaining the Gospel corresponds with the biblical metaphors very well. But some other, and more conservative theologians, for example A. McGrath, express an anxiety that his method is not enough to reveal the concrete ground of faith obviously. Especially many conservative theologians in korea follows the opinion of McGrath, in worrying that G.Lindbeck`s theological method makes the essence of Gospel obscure, because he fails to illuminate the ground of faith distinctively. But contrary to this negative evaluation, it is ascertain that this non-foundational theological method will fulfill its assignment to proclaim God as the foundation of whole world as the saviour. And secondly this non metaphysical way of thinking has in the end an foundational element to reveal the relationship between God and the world. It is well acknowledged that phenomenology is a foundational think-system. And with the help of phenomenological understanding which is in some way transformed for theological use, we can get some hint to construct a theological method to reveal God as Saviour in non-metaphysical way.
