The purpose of this paper is to discuss theological and philosophical implications of Ahn Byung-mu`s theology of event from the perspective of process thought. This paper searches for a possibility of minjung theology as a philosophical theology, rather than stressing it again as a political theology. The clue is Ahn`s idea of event by which he attempts to make a paradigm shift from substantialism to a theory of event. His theology of event as an inclusive thought that plays upon the vast open theological horizon such as panentheism directly answers the essential topic of Christian theology, namely, the presence of Christ in the salvation and liberation of minjung. This essay is composed of three parts. First, it summarizes three background elements that make Ahn pay attention to the idea of event, and discusses the philosophical motivation in his theological ideas. Second, it recapitulates the main characteristics of process thought in order to make clear the meaning of the concept of event in the history of western philosophy. Third, it discusses Ahn`s three major concepts-minjung event, God event (or God of event), and Christ event-in the form of process commentation.
