Da`wah, meaning of invitation to Islam, is equally used describe the revival propaganda of Muslims as well as the conversion of non-Muslims. The purpose of this research is to draw out some missiological implications through the analysis on complex ways of Islamic extra-da`wah. Through the prototype of Muhammad`s performance of da`wah, Islam became a missionary religion from its beginning, but, from the early stage to the middle ages, Islamic da`wah had been activated mainly through political-economical pressure. It was during the colonial period that Muslim activists agree on the need for da`wah toward non-Muslim as well as Muslims. In the modern era, the increased Muslim immigrants to the West also have stimulated their extra-da`wah conscience. Through the revival and reformation from the inside of Muslim ummah, the propagandists persist that every Muslim can be a da`i. Muslims` confrontation with Christian missionaries in their Muslim lands caused them to develop obsessively their own arguments and polemics to defend Islams. Furthermore, the Muslim`s occasional contact with Christian missionaries and their mission strategies had several consequences. Even though they opposed Christian missions, they borrowed Christianity`s mission methods and techniques as well as its mission spirit while adding their flavor to the mix. Although some Christians feel threat of growing Islam, it is important to remember that Islamic da`wah has multiple aspects of variation. It is true that there are some political-violent Muslim activists out there. However, most of them seem to be involved in da`wah through the religion of their life. In the typical process of da`wah, the da`is declare Islam is the religion in their life and then challenge Christians by asking “Why do you, Christians not follow Jesus` way of life”? It means Islam`s superiority can be proven by their religious life. Thus, if Christianity want to be born newly to be a powerful influential religion of the light and salt in the world, every Christians should experience revival and reformation in their personal lives and then declare their beliefs through their changed life.
