This study conducted an Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) of welfare center programs to establish the identity of community welfare centers and enhance their expertise. As a result, in order to draw results, six community welfare centers in the Gyeongnam region were randomly sampled by each area, social workers who had worked for over one year were selected for the analysis and the results of the analysis are as follows:
First, overall, there was a significant difference between the importance and the performance of the welfare center programs (p < 0.05), and there was some gap between the importance and the performance of the welfare center programs. Second, there was an analysis that 13 businesses including a case discovery business were those that should actively be recommended, since the members attached importance to them and their actual performance was relatively good while mid- to long-term measures would be necessary for 10 businesses including the business for the promotion of family relations, since they were business groups with lower importance and performance. Third, as causes for the differences in the importance and performance of the businesses, it was investigated that there was a difference in awareness between the value the institution pursued and the actual programs because the allocation of the budget was made irrespective of the importance of businesses and there was a gap between the items of evaluation standards for the welfare centers and the importance of the businesses.
Based on these results, this study attempts to draw the priorities of the businesses and those to be promoted and improved to contribute to providing base line data necessary for setting the business strategies and directions of welfare centers in the future.
