There are a lot of arguments about the marketing performance of IKEA who is a large interior design store recently launched into Korea. The goal of the paper is understanding IKEA’s space representation skills in detail by analyzing VMD space representation elements used in interior design showrooms of IKEA. In result, there is three main points. Firstly, IKEA employed varieties of plan and practical interior design resources to show real living space. Secondly, every showroom displayed illuminations, furnitures, and home accessories in different ways to emphasize these goods. Thirdly, the store appealed products by systematic POP composition so that increased comprehensions about products. The paper organized various space representation elements used in IKEA store. We believe that these space representation elements can be beneficial resources for other interior design stores.
