The World Heritage education programs are getting popular around the world both to enhance public awareness and capacity building and to raise up experts for World Heritage preservation, management and promotion. International trends in World Heritage education programs can be summarized as follows: (1) both preservation and promotion of World Heritage need to be reflected in balance into the curriculum; (2) sustainable issues are more highlighted; (3) interdisciplinary approach is more emphasized; (4) technological development is reflected in research and education curricular; (5) practical working projects and experiences are credited in the program. In order to make strong education program in the World Heritage of Korea, we need to develop not only sound and strong education programs targeting experts and public awareness, but also to invent institutional supports enough to create job market demands.
