The records of Chamsongdan and Samrang Fortress on the Sejongsilrok and Koryosa are the oldest dealing with Tangun's messages at Ganghwa Island. Researches have been unable to find reliable and authoritative records on these, however, and some doubt they exist at all. Tangun's transmissions at Ganghwa Island were recorded and passed down primarily from King Gojong to King Wonjong sometime during the Koryo dynasty. During the transplant of the capital to Ganghwa, sorcerers felt the need to find an excellent place for national welfare. It was able to draw attention to the Chamsongdan and Samrang fortress. Mount Mari was designated as the Chamsondan by the intellectual class during the Joseon dynasty, who regarded it as the ruins about Tangun. These ruins were also known as Tangundae, because certain intellectuals regarded it as Tangun's sacrificial grounds. The Jaegung is an attached building for the Chamsongdan, but once again, no method to independently confirm the date of construction currently exists. Nevertheless, evidence of materials used during sacrificial rites exists. The Samrang Fortress encompasses the ruins of Tangun, but this cannot be positively confirmed either, perhaps due to the withering of Tangun's transmissions at there. Scholars have yet to locate either any records on Tangun's transmissions and remains at Ganghwa in Samgukyusa, Jewangungi dating to the Koryo period or many important Joseon dynasty historical documents. This proves that many people have little understanding of the transmissions about Chamsongdan and Samrang Fortress. Of course, it was construed as a border of Old Joseon by a few realists during the late Joseon period, but the problem is that these conjectures lack generality and objectivity.
