This thesis is the study of the classification and orthography on cereal crops which is recorded in agricultural books. When marked the name of crops species in these books, wrote and explained the Chinese characters. And then also recorded in Hangul with the Chinese characters. In theses books, there are many names of crops species. Those are of the names rice, barley, rye, sorghum, bean and so on. This thesis is consisted on the classification and orthography of the rices except field crops. The orthography methods are two. First, it is the method of reading the Chinese characters phonetically. Second, it is the method of rendering Chinese writings into Korean. In agricultural books, also recorded with these two methods. The orthography methods on the 「Geumyangjamnok 금양잡록」 and 「Imwon-kyungje-ji 임원경제지」also recorded through two methods, phonetical and meaningful reading. Especially on the 「Imwon-kyungje-ji 임원경제지」 there are many information about orgin of words. Therefore this book gave to us a information of the words form regarding origin of words.
