The purpose of this study was to comprehend the characteristics of apartment plan types, affected by the economic change from the shock of global financial crisis in 2008 to 2014.
The survey had objectives of 878 plans supplied by the top 10 Korean construction companies in Seoul and its metropolitan area with 3 groups of space size; 41-60㎡, 61-85㎡, and 86-102㎡. To get the plan types, this study visited every company"s homepage in the period from 19 March to 25 May, 2014.
The major findings are as follows: 1) The increase of bay and size of apartments let corridor type space plan inevitable. 2) After deregulation of the expansion of balcony, front and rear balcony types were increasing. 3) Supplementary spaces, powder room and dress room, were planned as attached to Anbang in the over 61㎡ types. 4) The larger size of apartment might supply larger storage space, variable space, and so-called "Alfa Room"
