The purpose of this research was to find satisfaction and needs about environment among foreign students living in university dormitory. Social survey research using questionnaire was conducted Kyunghee University, Korea University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies during Oct,15∼Sep,1,2011. The data from 100 respondents were collected from foreign students living in each University dormitories. And the data was analysed using descriptive statics, one-way ANOVA, t-test, cross tabulation and factor analysis using SPSS 18.0 statistical program. The major findings were as follows: firstly, foreign students who living in University dormitory more than 1 year tend to require proper function of mechanical ventilation compared to short term staying students. Secondly, most of the respondents from western countries did not satisfied with ventilation and noisy environment. Thirdly, foreign students were differentiated by gender, women students were more sensitive than men in brightness and noise control in the room.
In conclusion, in order to enhance the satisfaction of indoor environment among foreign students living in the University dormitory, noise and ventilation expects should be controlled more elaborately than before.
