My belief is that the novel is the from of literature which most fully reflect the social reality. In this opinion, this thesis is an attempt to investigate on the reflective aspect of social reality in first person protagonist-narration. I borrowed the method from Mikkail Bakhtin`s theory of discourse`s heteroglossolalia and Ge´rard Genette`s discourse of narrative. For my hope, I selected two short-stories as first person protagonist-narration, in consideration of the social reality in the early 1920`s and the middle 1930`s. for example. Kim Dong-In`s <TAE-HYUNG> [FLOGGING] and Park Tae-Won`s <GEORI> [DISTANCE]. Conclusion is as follows: First, it is true that the text of first person protagonist-narration reflects prominently contemporary social reality such as it of third person-narration. `I`narrator of <TAE-HYUNG>describes completely the political and social reality of the cell under reign of Japanese imperialism. In distintion from it, `I`narrator of <GEORI> describes the economic and social reality due to his poverty and incompetence. Secondly, the utterance of `I`narrators in two texts show us the aspect of differentiation in each discourse. In case of <TAE-HYUNG>, it represents the falling process of intelligent language which is assimilated to bad language or vulgar words. At the same time, it means that two dialects of the different class are used by one narrator. In case of <GEORI>, it shows `I`narrator`s self-consciousness which is occurred by abolition of the intercourse with other characters. Thirdly, according to the speciality of the contemporary social reality, each `I`narrator in two texts reveals the differentiated aspect of narration. And two texts` `I`narrators adopt the from of `confession` for the first person protagonist-narration. <TAE-HYUNG> adopts the from of participatory or opening that is maintained by bringing about cordial understanding between narrator and the other character, but <GEORI> does the from of escape or autistic confession that kept up consistently rupturing between other characters. Viewing the correlation of the social reality in the early 1920`s and the middle 1930`s, it is the aspect of utterance conversion in the two texts that is differentiated to frustration from disappoint under oppression by Japanese imperrialism.
