Objectives: The purpose of this study is to seek for utilization of mHealth in terms of chronic disease prevention and management.
Methods: PHD(Personal Health Device), PHA(Personal Health Application) and related PHI(Personal Health Information) were searched according to each prevention stage.
Results: According to each prevention stage, utilization of a wide variety of PHD and PHA were available. In the case of PHD, it was mainly focused on the primary prevention, and using only PHA without device had lower utilization.
Discussions and Suggestions: Prevention is more cost-efficient way to manage chronic disease, the Potentiality of mHealth to improve the preventive effect was confirmed in this study. Also, obstacles in the application of mHealth to the elderly should be considered and the development of integrated PHA is required. Moreover, implementation of effect and economic evaluation is absolutely necessary for objectifying effect of mHealth.
