This paper is to examine the effects of attitudes towards leisure on a self-monitoring scale. We used the self-monitoring scale developed by Snyder(1974) who focused on individual behavior, which has recently drawn attention from the field of social psychology. It is considered that the result of this study contributes to academic world from two extensive points of view. One point of view is that this study was conducted without any previous studies on self-monitoring, and was performed to arrange the concept of Leisure Attitude in the main stream. Another is that this research proved the influence of self-monitoring on the citizen"s propensity towards Leisure Attitude. Finally, Leisure Attitude that has relevance to social psychological differences of individuals.
According to the research, the Leisure Attitude of the person with the higher score in the self-monitoring scale tends to be affirmative. On the contrary, the person with the lower score on self-monitoring scales tend to oppose a Leisure Attitude.
