This research analyzes E-business trends and fulfillment process in South Korea. For analysing, we did in-depth interview with the logistics team members from e-business companies. The results show that fulfillment process is used by B2C e-business companies which include inventory management model, pick Up & delivery model, and dropship model. The types of fulfillment process in early stages of e-business can be divided into three types, but the trends of fulfillment process have been changed. As the distinctive characteristics among e-business companies have been disappeared gradually, the classification of fulfillment process according to business models become useless. however, differences of fulfillment process among products still exist. By this paper, we want to contribute to the development of fulfillment of E-business companies. In further study, we will compare South Korea’s e-business companies with global ones such as Amazon.

다른 기업과의 차별적인 경영전략과, 경쟁 기업과의 경쟁에서 뒤쳐지지 않으려는 시도들은 현재 급변하고 있는 한국의 E-비즈니스 마켓에 있어서 생존전략이라 할 수 있다. 이와 더불어 E-비즈니스 업체들의 고객들은 더욱 더 까다로운 고객 서비스를 요구하고 있다. 더 빠르고, 경제적이며, 안전한 물품의 배송을 원함에 따라 E-비즈니스 업체들은 효율적인 Fulfillment 프로세스의 활용이 필요하였다. 본 논문에서는 한국의 온라인 쇼핑몰 업체들을 상대로 심층인터뷰 방법을 활용하여 업체관계자들을 상대로 연구를 진행하였다. 초기 업체들은 온·오프라인 유통 채널 보유에 따라 운영 방식에서 차이를 보여왔다. 그러나 온라인 쇼핑몰의 성격에 따라 Fulfillment 프로세스가 다를 것이라 예상하였으나 프로세스의 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 각 제품들의 성격에 따라 Fulfillment 프로세스를 달리 사용하고 있다는 것을 연구를 통하여 발견해 낼 수 있었다. 제품 별 활용하는 Fulfillment 프로세스와 달리 온라인 쇼핑몰에서 비슷한 Fulfillment 프로세스를 사용하는 이유로 각 온라인 쇼핑몰들이 경영전략의 다각화를 꾀함으로서 사업의 범위가 비슷해져가고 있는 것이 주된 이유이다. 본 논문은 현재 국내 E-비즈니스의 화두인 Fulfillment 프로세스의 이해와 업체들이 사용하고 있는 Fulfillment 프로세스들을 살펴봄으로써 Fulfillment 프로세스의 개념 정리와 함께 Fulfillment 프로세스들을 각각 비교하여 적합한 Model의 적용에 관하여 E-비즈니스 업체들에게 제시하고자 하였다. 향후 연구에서는 변화하는 E-비즈니스 시장에 적합한 새로운 개념 정리와 아마존과 같은 글로벌 E-비즈니스 업체와 비교 분석을 진행한다면 향후 국내 Fulfillment 프로세스의 발전에 기여할 것이라 예상된다.
