This study investigates the relationship between young children`s play characteristics, attachment, and teacher-child relationships. The subjects consist of 239 daycare center children in D city and Gyeongbuk. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson`s r and multiple regression using the SPSS/PC computer program. The results are as follows. First, there were significant relationships between play characteristics, attachment, and teacher-child relationships. Second, the positive factors in predicting play characteristics were attachment and teacher-child relationships. This study confirms that young children`s play characteristics and self-regulation are important factors in predicting attachment and teacher-child relationships. Implications for future research and practices are discussed.
