This study was conducted to explore preventive measures which may occur in the absence of ethics in the organization and professional ethics improvement by identifying the factors to have a significant effect through an empirical study on the factors to affect professional ethics of policewomen enhancing the variables to be promoted. Policewomen are people who work in a professional field to take advantage of business knowledge and skills dynamically at the same time, it's very important to consider professional ethics of policewomen as ethical nature in mission itself is emphasized. 12)13)But, the studies on ethical awareness and attitude of policewomen in actual working place are insufficient, so empirical studies related to it are necessary. We set occupational satisfaction, compensation and punishment, colleagues' effects,ethical atmosphere of organization and ethical capability of manager as independent variables by referring precedent studies. And, it set customer-oriented characteristics and career development which were not applied in studies on occupational ethical awareness of civil servants including policemen as parameters. Finally, it applied occupational ethical awareness as a dependent variable. The survey was carried out for policewomen who were working in Seoul metropolitan area, 206 collected finally were used for analysis. Frequency analysis,validity and reliability verification, exploratory factors analysis, and confirmatory factors analysis and path analysis were conducted using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0. A total of 13 hypotheses were established, proven results were summarized as follows: First, colleagues' effects and manager's ethical capability made a significant effect on policewomen's customer-oriented characteristics. Second, compensation/punishment and manager's ethical capability made a significant effect on policewomen's career development. Third, customer orientation and career development were found to have a significant influence in professional ethics of policewomen. In the future, the suggestions were as follows for conducting a more meaningful study. First, the development of questionnaire items to be more appropriate will be required as measuring professional ethics. Second, more specialized and general factors to affect professional ethics of policewomen will be searched and utilized. Third, for the generalization of study, this study must be progressed by collecting examples considering various regions and subjects.
