Temple stay which is a distinguish form of accommodation in Korea had a big grown in quantity and quality. However, the situation is over 50% of annual turnover happening at the temple stay. This study was initiated to decrease the turnover rates of Temple Stay workers. The research aims purpose to provide a basis by analyzing temple stay employee’s job stress factor which is connected with turnover intention.
Statistical result about practitioners shows negative opinions over average in size of the task and hours of work among temple stay practitioners, and it shows strong negative opinions on pay satisfaction, life composure and payment against duty. Factor analysis of job stress were reduced to 6 factors, training and management is necessary for certain period time when temple hires practitioners as practitioners with under 1 year and 1-2 years careers showed differences in almost every factors, relationship with the Judiciary, worker pride, economic compensation, rating pressure, job commitment except relationship factor with believers. Results of the interviews with temple stay practitioners, practitioners applied job to deviating from society orreligious reasons than economic terms. However, practitioners experienced conflicts with workload and the monks, business managers while they are engaged in work.
This study attempts to resolve the problem for the first time by identifying the job stress factors with understanding careers among temple stay practitioners which shows an annual turnover more than 50%. Despite the quantitative growth of temple stay, it translates the recognition in each individual issue as a matter of temple stay organization about temple stay employees’ job stress.
