The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of aerobic dance on blood pressure, VO<sub>2max</sub> and basic physical fitness in middle aged women. In this study, aerobic dance program (HRmax 55-75%. 60 min/day, 5 day/week) was performed and 14 subjects were participated for study during 16 weeks, one group as experimental group (n=7) and the other as control group (n=7). The untrained middle-aged women in I city volunteered to participate in this study. Analytical items were blood pressure, physical fitness (VO<sub>2max</sub>, trunk flexion, abdominal muscular strength). Analysis for variables was performed between pre and post after exercise intervention for next 16weeks. All data were expressed as mean±sd by using SPSS package program (win 9.0). The results of this study were as follows 1. Left arm, right arm, left leg and right leg (P<.01) were significantly reduced after exercise intervention in experimental group, but showed no significance in control group. 2. VO<sub>2max</sub> (P<.01) was significantly reduced after exercise intervention in experimental group, but showed no significance in control group. 3. Abdominal muscular strength (P<.01) and trunk flexion (P<.01) were significantly reduced after exercise intervention in experimental group, but showed no significance in control group. Consequently, this study demonstrated that aerobic dance program could have positive effect on middle aged women in the aspect of blood pressure, health-related physical fitness.
