The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of multi-cultural experience and awareness and image reception of foreign athletes on social distance in university students. The subjects of investigation were 549 students(male, 413, female, 136) at university in GyeongGe-Do, Seoul and KangWon-Do province by area sampling method. According to research mater, Multiple Regression Analysis through SPSS 19.0 are applied for the analysis of the data. The results of this study can be acquired as follows; First, multi-cultural experience and awareness in university students had significant influence on image reception of foreign athletes. In detail, the higher attitude & morality, sports performance, sexually image, they showed on image reception of foreign athletes resulted in multi-cultural experience and awareness. The higher appearance showed more multi-cultural awareness and the higher homogeneity showed more multi-cultural experience. Second, multi-cultural experience and awareness had significant influence on social distance. In detail, the higher general behavior intent showed more multi-cultural experience & awareness and the low family relations behavior intent showed more multi-cultural experience. Finally, image reception of foreign athletes had significant influence on social distance. In detail, the higher sexually image, homogeneity, appearance in image reception of foreign athletes showed more, while the low sports performance showed more general behavior intent. And the sports performance and appearance showed more, while the low sexually image showed more family relations behavior intent.
