The purpose of this research is to re-examine Strategy, mainly through the general theory of strategy, regarding the role of human dimension and insight, from the perspective of strategic studies. By doing this, this article will contribute to the western academia of strategic studies and the Korean academia of military studies respectively in the following two points. Firstly, this research will revitalise the importance of human dimension by contending that human is the master of all dimensions in Strategy. To support this argument, this paper exposes the inner structure of Strategy with disclosing its operating principles. Then, the influence of human on the inner structure will be explained. Meanwhile, this research also highlights the role of intangible factors such as insight and courage in Strategy as complementary goods of the incompleteness of human nature. This holistic approach to Strategy and the role of human on it will contribute to improving existing understanding of how Strategy works. Secondly, this paper could narrow the academic gap between the west and Korea in understanding Strategy by providing the latest discourse for Korean military studies.
