Through the media, people are increasingly interested in hiking and trekking(Lee, Un, 2011).
In the fact that many people are watching the Himalaya trekking through the media and it is included in the bucket list of life, we investigated the effect of the motivation of the Himalayan trekking on leisure satisfaction and the intention of return visit. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of Himalayan trekking motivation on leisure satisfaction and revisit intention.
The subjects of this study were around 186 trakekers throughout the country who experienced Himalayan trekking. The motive of Himalayan trekking participation was measured by demographic and trekking characteristics(25 items) and Jung-yonggak(1997), motivated sports participation, and Kim Yong-ju(2005) the leisure satisfaction measure was developed by Beard and Ragheb(1980), and Lee Jong-gil(1992), and the leisure satisfaction measure(Lee, (24 questions) composed of 5 sub-factors(psychological, social, physical, social, resting), which were revised and supplemented from Leisure satisfaction scale(LSS)), used by Kim Sung Ki (2015)et.
This questionnaire consisted of 91 items, all of them consisted of 5 points Likert scale from 1(not at all) to 5(very much). All factors in the reliability analysis of each factor were above .60. descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and standard multiple regression analysis were used for the analysis of data processing.
Finally, Socializing(P<.005), motivation(p<.005), and reflection(p<.005) had significant effects on leisure satisfaction among the leisure satisfaction factors of trekking participants. The results showed that the positive influence of positive social interaction and negative motivation resulted in the effect of participation motive on leisure satisfaction. In addition, the effect of leisure satisfaction on revisit intention was significant(p<.005), which had a significant effect on revisit intention. On the other hand, the effect of the leisure intention on the satisfaction of leisure was not statistically significant. Therefore, in this study, we found that the motivation to participate in Himalaya trekking has a direct effect on the satisfaction of filtering and the intention to revisit.
