Whether the Jews will be converted to Christ nationally at the end, or the restoration of forefather’s land by contemporary Israelites as an achievement of the Old Testament is one of the topics of serious discussion in the field of eschatology. Since dispensationalists and extreme eschatologists have taken an extreme attitude by representing this position, there are others who seem to have an equal extreme attitude for the recovery of the Jews as God’s people. With this situation in mind, I examined Hyungnong Park ‘s position on this subject. In an essay written in 1929, Park published his firm belief about the restoration of Palestine by Jews and their national conversion just before the return of Christ, and in his Eschatology published in 1973, he stood for the Jewish eschatological and national conversion (2.1, 2.2). Thus, Hyungnong Park would say that he believed in the Jewish national conversion from early period to late period. Most of his disciples and another professors succeeded Hyungnong Park’s position (2.3.).
In the next section (3), I introduced three major interpretations of Romans 11:26 (“And in this way all Israel will be saved”) and examined Hyungnong Park’s position in this light and evaluated it. The first position is that the chosen people among the Jews and Gentiles are all Israel(3.1). The second is the position of Luther and Dutch reformed theologians in the sense that all the elected Jews through the entire history are saved(3.2). The third is the position of the Puritans, Evangelical theologians, and Reformed theologians, who believe in the eschatological and national conversion of Israel(3.3). It can be seen that Park belongs to the third position, which is the mainstream position on this subject. But I think we should also keep in mind the criticisms against it raised by Dutch Reformed theologians.
