There were some studies that the results of early intervention for stuttering children were more effective than for stuttering adults. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of dysfluency improvement with stuttering therapy program using prolonged speech that was designed by this researcher for 3 subjects over 4-6 years stuttering children.Pre-test, post-test, and maintenance assessment were used to investigate the results of dysfluency improvement on (1) the variation and maintenance of the numbers of stuttering, (2) the variation and maintenance of stuttering patterns, (3) transference on communication situations. This experiment was done on 3 stuttering children, and designed AB-desingn with baseline stage, treatment stage, maintenance stage.The results are as follows; Firstly, the numbers of stuttering was decreased on 3 subjects and the maintenance of decreasing stuttering was shown.Secondly, the variation of stuttering patterns was shown, and the maintenance of the effect was shown on all of subjects. Thirdly, the transference effect on communication situations was definitely shown on all of subjects. Therefore, the stuttering therapy program using prolonged speech of this study was shown effective to decrease dysfluency on stuttering children. Suggestions and limitations of the result of this study were described for the early intervention of stuttering children.
