Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out factors speech-language pathologists get stressful and feel doubt at work. Methods: The study conducted a survey of 377 speech-language pathologists all over the country. The questions were ‘the most stressful factor at work’ and ‘reasons they feel doubt at work’. All responded data was saved, made subcategories in similar concepts, and then conceptualized them again to make the subcategories into upper categories. Results: Out-of-hours treatment was pointed by speech-language pathologists as the most stressful factor at work, and conflicts with their parents, lack of remediation capabilities, relationships at work, conflicts with recipients, none, management of clinics, working environment, economic difficulties were shown in the order named. Conclusions: Out-of-hours treatment, as the most stressful factor for speech-language pathologists was administrative papers which were not directly related with speech therapy itself, such as papers regarding Vouchers. Thus, administrative assistant and simplification of unnecessary papers are required. The most frequent reason why they feel doubt was lack of remediation capability, and we can see speech-language pathologists get pressed more emotional burden when there may be no therapeutic progress. To make up for these factors, educations for maintaining the present licenses, plus development of small education individually to raise specialty will be necessary.
