The purpose of this study is to investigate how psychological factors that affecting happiness in a residential environment empirically applied to Japanese houses designed. This study is going to find the highest and lowest psychological scores of happiness. The result of this study will investigate in the further experimental (BCI) study to measure the level of human emotions. The study subjects were selected from 17 cases of well-being, happiness, and comfort among the 1200 Japanese projects by searching the keywords in the database of Arch daily website (https://www.archdaily.com). The photographs of selected houses were presented to 30 participants (15F and 15M) and eight psychological evaluation factors were used to identify the 17 cases, in perceived yes or no answer. According to the evaluation factors, the feeling of openness, nature, and comfort was relatively high in 17 cases. The result of this study has shown, that the single houses with the high score of openness, sense of nature and comfort affect human happiness more.
