The Munsell notation(HVC) in system of the NCD Hue & Tone 130 colors can be properly converted to RGB data according to the CIE standard illuminant D65. If the RGB data are not correct when the user uses the color in the monitor, it will detect the perceptual color difference in the Munsell notation. Therefore, it is important to set the correct RGB data in the Hue and Tone system. The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference between the Munsell HVC of NCD Hue & Tone 130 colors and the converted Munsell notation of NCD RGB to see if the difference is appropriate for the Munsell HVC tolerance range. NCD RGB data with 120 chromatic colors and 10 achromatic colors were converted to the Munsell HVC based on CIE standard illuminant D65 using Babel Color CT&A color analysis system. The Munsell HVC tolerance range was set to H±2 V±0.5/C±2 on the KS standards. Based on this, the equal Hue aspect is used to create a Munsell VC(Value Chroma) distribution chart for 12 tones, Munsell HVC by tone images were compared and analyzed. For achromatic, Munsell N(neutral) data was calculated and compared. The results are as follows. First, when separating the Munsell HVC from chromatic 120 colors to determine the tolerance, it is necessary to redesign RGB data by preferentially compensating for Hue and Value. Second, optimization of RGB data is necessary in order to maintain Hue, Value, and Chroma properly in equal Hue aspect, HV(Hue Value) and HC(Hue Chroma) charts. By enhancing the RGB data with reference to KS A 0062 or JISZ8721, it is possible to optimize the chromatic color for 98 colors(81.7%) out of 120 colors, and to achromatic color for eight colors (80%) except white and black can be optimized. Based on a total of 130 colors, 88 colors (67.7%) can be improved.
