The purpose of this study was to identify changes and relationships in the FTO gene polymorphism and body composition and health-related physical strength of childhood adolescence during the third year from the elementary school year in 2015 to middle school year in 2018. The participants of this study was 62 female students. They were tracked down and divided into the two types according to FTO genetic type; AA+AT gene allele (Group A) and TT gene allele (Group T). The growth of height in the two groups did not differ significantly, and the increase in weight (p<.01) and BMI (p<.01) was significantly higher in group A. The health-related physical strength, there was no significant difference in cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and net exertion, but the strength and muscle endurance were significantly higher in T groups (p<.001). As a result, the FTO gene showed the conditions under which group A is prone to obesity, such as decreased physical activity and muscle strength compared to group T and increased BMI. If the FTO gene polymorphism can be identified early, it will be able to actively educate students on the right attitude of living, contributing greatly to their health-related physical strength. Therefore, the present study suggests that it is necessary to identify early the fat-causing FTO gene polymorphism for students in childhood and to encourage healthy and regular physical activity.
