This paper intends to deepen the study of the concept of the spiritual body and community of cosmic love as identified by Janggong Kim Jae-Jun. Janggong’s theological perspective conveyed the important achievements of modern theology in the 20th century to Korean Christianity, as he connected theology and society in a very harmonious theological sense. In particular, Janggong actively tried to introduce the concept of traditional theology with the theological and historical sense of balance and to reinterpret theology such that it contributed to the progress of history and theology in Korea.
Janggong tried to promote a new theological perspective beyond the traditional concepts of the resurrection and the spiritual body in historical space at time. First, this study provides a new critique and historical reinterpretation of the discourse on the spiritual body of Christology. Second, this study illuminates the historical and social aspects of the concept of the community of cosmic love, which is the core of Janggon’s theological point. Finally, this study presents the important meaning of Janggong’s concept of spiritual body and Christology of cosmic love for today.
