The Inscription for the Buried Crane of the forest of stone tablets in Jiaoshan Mountain had taken a very important part in Chinese calligraphy history. From ancient time, it had been honored as "the best calligraphy". The Inscription for the Buried Crane had been salvaged for many times after it fell into the river. Although some words were worn away or faded, the inscriptions on five remaining stones attracted calligraphers of all ages. If we carefully observe the calligraphy of the Inscription for the Buried Crane, we can find that the strokes, the structure and the style all reflected the characteristics of the era. Therefore, scholars consider that the technique of writing and the composition had developed from the Inscription for the Buried Crane. They try to find the roots of famous calligraphers" calligraphy. Thus, the Inscription for the Buried Crane has been loved by many artists as well as calligraphers even today. They still go to Jiaoshan Mountain to catch a glimpse of the Inscription for the Buried Crane.
