Nowadays it is extremely difficult to proclaim the Christian gospel even in the Christian university. Many students express their uneasy feeling towards Christianity. They are reluctant to accept the religious faith, because they face their own existential and intellectual problems, including the problems of theodicy and intellectual honesty. This paper is intended to review the Christian apologetics of C. S. Lewis, because Lewis has come to accept Christian faith through his own journey from atheism to Christianity, without losing his own intellectual honesty. C. S. Lewis tells us how he has come to accept Christian faith in his autobiographical book, "Surprised by Joy". In this essay, the writer has traced and described the process in which C. S. Lewis has come to accept the reality of God which surpasses the reality of everyday life. In describing the process of the spiritual journey, the importance of longing [in German, Sehnsucht] for eternity has been emphasized.
