According to the Christian tradition, natural law is a law of justice or a moral principle printed in the human heart from birth by God. Christian theological tradition has thought that the law of God is also printed in the human heart by considering the intense connection between God and human beings. Therefore, they thought that the rational moral law which judges good and evil and right and wrong has been printed in human mind as the law of nature is given to the nature to control it. And they thought that human beings can recognize the natural law by their reason. The theological tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and the Reformers recognize that there is the natural law given by God. They generally agree that human beings can realize the natural law by themselves without the help of the supernatural revelation. Yet, the Reformers emphasize that the ability of human reason has been weakened by the fall thus they need the help of the supernatural revelation for the full understanding of the natural law. This thesis will investigate the Christian view on the natural law by studying the resources of the Bible, the Roman Catholic Church tradition and the Reformers.
