This work attempts to clarify the character of the trade in the East Asia for the 9-10th centuries. Hitherto, they concede that local power groups leaded the trade from the 8-9th centuries, and do not notice aspects of the trade after the times. It is the reason that royal powers of all of the three kindoms, Tang, Silla, Japan, was declining, simultaneously, local power groups expanded the domination of the territory, governments. But, all the time, the three kindoms had the leadership of trade. Tang controlled the affair of overseas trade with Shih-po-ssu(市舶司; The Office of overseas trade). Japan, also, did with Tazaifu(太宰府). Needless to say, the Silla dynasty was retreating from the northern and the west-southern territory, non the ress, upkeeping the network of overseas trade untill losed her last habers-JinJu(晋州)․Kimhae(金海)․Ulsan(蔚山)-for trade. And She made Chang Bogo(張保皐), as was a deputy, execute the affair of overseas trade. After the death of Chang Bogo, the Silla dynasty pressed his the remnants into accomplish trade leading by the state. The Koryo dynasty took over the policy of the Silla dynasty, too. In the early of the Koryo dynasty, the trade which the private and local power groups achived was restrainted. Then what is the why they prohibited the trade of the private and local power groups? Silla wanted maintain the system of Golpoom(骨品), the order of social status. And Koryo hold a purpose that the private and local power groups don't gain the energy overseas trade offers to be monsters menacable themselves. However, in spite of their wish, the private and local power groups attempt themselves's active trade, and properly resisted the policy of the royal. The effects are crashes between public, official trade and individual, illegal trade, which once in a while, trancefered commit piracies. These are features of the trade in East Asia for the 9-10th centuries.
