The purpose of this study is to develop an educational app for energy conservation education in elementary school. To achieve this goal, some implications are derived from preceding studies on educational app, related literature and energy conservation education. Based on these implications, energy conservation educational app for third, fourth graders in elementary school. The results of this study were as follows: First, teaching and learning methods with educational app of energy conservation are designed and applied by analyzing the contents: related with energy conservation education and third, fourth grade curriculum. Second, this study developed a smartphone-based energy conservation educational app for third, fourth grader in elementary school. And the meanings of this study were as follows: First, the developed app consists of seven menus that are learning, checking, acting, writing, sharing, help, quiz based on literature and curriculum analysis on energy education. Second, students could use various multimedia contents of educational app to learn any where, any time. Third, differ from other pro-environmental apps, this educational app could support not only students-contents interaction but also students-students/students-teacher interaction. In conclusion, it would be required to study concretely the differences from existing textbooks, since this study only conducted the pilot test for verifying the effect of the developed educational app. Moreover, there would be a need for further research on the development of diverse educational apps for environmental education for elementary school students in the smart-based digital age.
