This article studies the political rights of immigrants in the U.S., focusing on voting rights for immigrants. Korea is transforming as a multi?cultural and multi?ethnic society. However, there have not been many studies examining the diverse multi?cultural issues [esp., related to the political rights of immigrants] existing in the Korean multi?cultural society. The U.S. has experienced a long history of accepting immigrants from around the world, and scholars have examined issues on the voting rights of immigrants from many different perspectives. By carefully examining the societal, cultural, legal, and political issues regarding the political rights of immigrants in the U.S., this study should provide us some important insights to tackle long?delayed issues on political rights of immigrants in the Korean multi?cultural society. This study also suggests how and why we should provide the political rights [esp., voting rights] to immigrants in Korea
