This research is to examine the effects of the leisure life style of the baby boom generation in rural area on generativity and to find the right to pursue happiness for the baby boom generation beginning to retire and arriving at senescence and to provide basic data for enabling them to lead a rich life that is different from that of the current elderly generation. The subjects of this research were a total of 300 people sampled by the convenient sampling method from the parent population of the baby boom generation living for10 years and more in rural area with population of 50,000 people and less. The questionnaire forms prepared by Oh Se-sook, Woo Seong-nam(2010), Lee Ok-hee, Lee Ji-yeon(2012) that were revised and supplemented were used. The results of this research are as follows. First, the results of the analysis of differences in demographic variables and leisure life style showed that leisure lethargy was high in females and those of the bay boom generation without pension, and sensation-seeking tendency was high in males, and rational planning quality was high in the baby boom generation without job, and work-oriented tendency was high in the baby boom generation who wanted job in their old age. It was found that there were differences in generativity according to gender, existence or non-existence of pension, existence or non-existence of job. However, the three sub-factors of generativity were found to be high in the baby boom generation who wanted job in their old age. Second, the results of the analysis of the effects of leisure life style of the baby boom generation in rural area showed that, on realistic optimism, contribution to society, and relationship and freedom, leisure lethargy had negative (-) effects, and family-oriented tendency, relationship-oriented tendency, rational planning quality, and work-oriented tendency had positive (+) effects. Finally, it was found that, on the establishment of identity feeling in the middle years of life, leisure lethargy had negative (-) effects, and family-oriented tendency, sensation-seeking tendency, rational planning quality, and work-oriented tendency had positive (+) effects. Based on the results of this research, efforts need to be made to enhance leisure welfare services that can provide positive changes in leisure life style for women of the baby boom generation in rural area, people of the baby boom generation who have no pension receiving job, and people of the baby boom generation who do not want job in their old age.
