The purpose of this study was to investigate the academic stress, perceived health status, ego resilience and health promoting behaviors of nursing college students and to grasp the relationship between these variables to provide basic data for the development of an effective health promotion intervention program. The results of this study were as follows: academic stress was significantly related to gender (p = .001), academic achievement (p = .001), subjective health status (p = .006), sleep time (p = .000), nursing major satisfaction (p = .033) major choice motivation(p= .033) were significant difference. There was a significant difference in perceived health status between subjective health status (p = .000), human relations (p = .028), and nursing and major satisfaction (p = .000). Ego resilience showed significant difference in subjective health status (p = .007) and human relationship (p = .000). (P = .011), subjective health status (p = .007), human relations (p = .001), nursing major satisfaction (p = .001), nursing choice motivation (p =. 013) were significant. The factors affecting health promoting behaviors were found to be significant differences in nursing major satisfaction (p = .029) and ego resilience (p = .000). Therefore, it is necessary to develop a health promotion intervention program for enhancing ego resilience by grasping the subjective health status in the effective health management for nursing college students.
