The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among the SAE(self-as-entertainment) capacity, communication interaction competence, and service performance. Additionally, it was intended to identify the applicability and effectiveness of the SAE construct for the field of service organizational behavior. A total of 320 questionnaires were distributed to the service encounter employees who work at the airport in five metropolitan areas nationwide S. KOREA for the subjects and the samples for this study. Out of 320 questionnaires, 282 questionnaires were collected in this study. All three hypotheses and a structural research model were set. The result of the analysis from utilizing SPSS Ver 21.0 and AMOS Ver 18.0 programs are as follow: Firstly, the mind-play and environment-modes of one’s self-as entertainment capacity had a positive influence on their communication interaction capabilities. Second, the environment-mode of one’s self-as entertainment capacity has a positive influence on one’s service performance. Third, the communication interaction competence had a positive influence on the service performance. This research has academic significance in point of analysis theoretical structure based on communication interaction competence and service performance as result variable of elf-as entertainment capacity recognized by Airline Service Encounter Employees.
