This study examined on the college graduates' reverse transfer to junior and technical colleges. Statistical analyses were conducted with the data surveyed by Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training in 2001. The data included informations on 149 junior and technical colleges with 4,957 reverse transfer students through college survey, and on 1,029 reverse transfer students and 213 graduates as reverse transfer students through individual mobile survey. This study found that reverse transfer is very positive in the aspects of self-realization and career development through lifelong learning. At the same time, however, many reverse transfer students entered junior colleges to solve the problems of school-to-work transition after college graduation. It could be due to the problems of career guidance from high school to college or unsatisfactory college education. This study suggested that reverse transfer should be for adults' continuing learning by eliminating human resource wastes through career education in high schools and flexibility of postsecondary education.
