In recent Laos has attempted to change the fundamentally through the openness and economic reform policy. However, in spite of active and aggressive effort of government, Lao still couldn't get the position out of the Least Developed Countries due to few population and rare natural resource. In these poor economic situation, Official Development Assistance (ODA) which flows into Laos has play an important role and has great influence in Lao country. This article is to review the current situation of Korean ODA toward Laos so far and also to look into the ODA of major countries such as Japan, China and so on. There is to a tendency that the Korea ODA scale toward Laos has been increasing gradually, so now it is very necessary time to evaluate about Korean ODA in Laos. Therefore this paper observes the problems to have appeared in process of Korea ODA operation and tries to propose more efficient way to improve the outcomes. For the effectiveness of ODA, it would like to suggest firstly that it should establish more practical strategy for Lao country, secondly it needs to strengthen Lao area study to find the local need and demand more adequately. Lastly even if ODA projects were completed and fulfilled, it is required to follow up the post-program to compliment and to maintenance the project.
