Event-specific PCR detection methods are theprimary trend in geneticaly modified (GM) plant detectionowing to their high specificity based on the flanking sequenceof the exogenous integrant. Therefore, this study describes areal-time PCR system for event-specific GM canola GT73,consisting of a set of primers, TaqMan probe, and singletarget standard plasmid. For the specific detection of GT73plant DNA and the integrated specific border was targeted. Tovalidate the proposed method, test samples of 0, 1, 3, 5, and10% GT73 canola were quantified. The method was alsoassayed with 15 diferent plants, and no amplification signalwas observed in a real-time PCR asay with any of the speciestested, other than GT73 canola.
