Even though with the all the problem the dance performance industry in korea is faced, a few performances are successfully popularized to extend the audience. In the other hand, there are some pure artistic dance performance giving a chance to experience the artistic purity for the general public, not much with popular success. Each character of performance have their own instinct motivation factors extracting the audience. It is necessary to understand the main root of instinct motivation for the audience to attend the dance performance. In this respect, this study was to examine motivational factors affecting consumption behavior of public and pure dance performance spectators and their predictability to explain it. We found that 3 motivational factors(famous dancer, interest, exit) significantly were higher in attending public dance performance than pure except motivation of academic factor, especially among those not major in dance, where as top of the three motivational factors in public dance performance were similar to those in pure dance performance. The motivation of famous dancer significantly explained the three attendance behaviors, attendance frequency, attendance in the future, spending amount for attending dance performance for annual. The motivation of academic factor significantly explained the attendance behaviors especially among dance major for both public and pure dance performance. The motivation of exit significantly explained attendance behavior only for public dance performance and the motivation of hobby significantly explained attendance behavior only for pure dance performance.
