The purpose of this study is to examine the importance-satisfaction of traditional market characteristics using IPA. The data collection was conducted from May 25, 2019 to June 15 using convenience sampling method by consumers who have visited in a traditional market, Seoul Gyeonggi area. Total 300 questionnaires were distributed and 267 copies of valid data were used for the analysis except unusal data. As a result of analyzing the importance of the characteristics of traditional market, taste was the most important characteristic as follwed by toilets convenient, clean, diverse, market-friendly, and cheap. As a result of analyzing the satisfaction with the characteristics of the traditional market, the taste showed the highest satisfaction, as follwed by prices was low, the market merchants were friendly, the service was good, the market was easy, and the products were diverse. This study is expected to solve the problems of traditional market and to find a way by identifying the characteristics of traditional market and devising alternatives to activate the traditional market in the future.
