In this study, we are going to find out key keywords and issues in the border area through keyword network analysis to give suggestions on strengthening the competitiveness of the border area. In particular, related to ‘border’ online use crawling sites and online news for the issue in the collection and keyword targeting networks Analysis. In addition, the government intended to draw up issues through keyword network analysis for Paju, Yeoncheon County and Goyang as well as the entire border area to present implications.
Despite the recent mood of inter-Korean cooperation and the establishment of a peace regime, the analysis of the network, the Korean Peninsula, nuclear test, and provocation have shown the still unpredictable situation on the Korean Peninsula and inter-Korean relations. Goyang City, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, in the case of frontier regions, forms the core is a keyword such as North Korea. In the case of Goyang, a relatively small number of key words, including North Korea, border areas, the two Koreas and Gyeonggi Province, form a semantic network, and various infrastructure held by the city are mentioned. In the case of Paju, border areas, North Korea, nuclear tests and residents have strong connectivity, and keywords such as peace and DMZ unification are mentioned, albeit relatively low, in line with the trend toward a peaceful city. In the case of Yeoncheon County, the image of the military demarcation line, military units and border areas still remains strong, as the anti-aircraft, weapons, firing, leaflets and others, as well as the North, border areas, are strongly connected.
Despite these diverse meanings, inter-Korean relations and border areas exist in an unpredictable way amid the fierce battle of interests between numerous countries and organizations linked to the Korean Peninsula, including the United States, Japan, China and Russia, as well as the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, we need to think about what aspects of the approach should be made not only at the level of improvement in the system but also at the level of local governments in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the border areas in the future.

본 연구에서는 키워드 네트워크 분석을 통해 접경지역의 핵심키워드 및 이슈를 도출하여 접경지역의 지역발전과 도시경쟁력 강화에 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. ‘접경지역’과 관련한 이슈 동향 분석을 위해 텍스톰 크롤링 사이트를 활용해 온라인 뉴스기사를 수집하여, 이를 대상으로 키워드 네트워크 분석을 실시하였다. 또한 접경지역 전체뿐만 아니라 파주시, 고양시, 연천군에 대해서도 이슈를 도출하여 정책적 함의를 제시하고자 하였다.
최근 남북관계협력이 이루어지고 평화체계가 구축되고 있는 분위기인데도 불구하고 네트워크 분석결과, 한반도, 핵실험, 도발 등의 키워드가 나타나 여전히 예측하기 어려운 한반도 정세와 남북관계를 보여주고 있다. 고양시, 파주시, 연천군의 경우에도 접경지역, 북한 등의 키워드가 핵심을 이루고 있다. 고양시의 경우, 북한, 접경지역, 남북, 경기 등 상대적으로 적은 수의 핵심어로 의미 연결망을 이루고 있고, 고양시가 보유하고 있는 각종 인프라 등이 언급이 되고 있다. 파주시의 경우에도 접경지역, 북한, 핵실험, 주민등이 강한 연결성을 가지고 있으며, 평화도시를 지향하는 기조에 맞게 평화, DMZ 통일 등의 키워드가 연결성은 비교적 낮지만 언급이 되고 있다. 연천군의 경우, 북한, 접경지역 뿐만 아니라 대공, 무기, 사격, 전단, 등이 강하게 하나의 강한 연결성을 지닌 것으로 보아 여전히 군사분계선, 군부대, 접경지역 등의 이미지가 강하게 남아 있는 것으로 판단된다.
이러한 다양한 의미에도 불구하고 접경지역은 대외적으로 한반도 정세뿐만 아니라 한반도와 연계된 수많은 나라와 조직 간 이해충돌의 격전 장속에서 예측하기 힘든 측면이 존재한다. 또한 대내적으로 정부의 군방개혁 2.0 발표 이후 이해당사자 간 갈등이 고조되고 있다. 이에 따라 대 · 내외적인 여건변화를 고려하여 지속가능한 접경지역의 지역발전 및 경쟁력 강화를 위한 실제적인 정책적 접근이 필요하다.
