As the commercialization of autonomous cars is nearing in the automotive industry, there is a great deal of discussion about the necessity of steering wheels of driver steering devices. Among the many discussions, there is an opinion that the driver’s intervention is required in the transition phase of autonomous driving, or the steering wheel is required for the driver who enjoys manual driving. In this case, the steering device is configured by SBW(Steering By Wire) to allow the steering wheel to be accommodated, thereby enabling both autonomous driving and manual driving. The SBW system consists of a reaction force that can make the driver’s steering feel and an actuator that enables steering. Then connect the two devices by wire (CAN). This helps reduce discomfort during driver steering. By replacing wires with Universal joints with wires, the steering and reaction devices can be accommodated. The reaction device allows the driver to feel the steering depending on the driving environment. In this study, the reaction force device was designed with redundancy. Even when the car breaks down, it minimizes the sense of heterogeneity and enables the car to run. Redundancy systems improve performance and fail / safe, but also increase the size and cost of the ECU. In order to improve fuel economy and optimize cost of vehicles, the reaction force ECU also needs to be miniaturized and optimized. In order to satisfy this problem, the miniaturized FET is applied to ECU. As a result, package optimization was possible by reducing the 2-board multilayer PCB of the existing ECU to 1 board PCB. In addition, production processes and costs can be significantly reduced, resulting in cost competitiveness.
