Bamboo slips that emerged since the 1970s can be roughly divided into “scriptures” and “document”. The bamboo slips related to the scriptures have academic research value, and The bamboo slips related to the document are useful for examining social and linguistic aspects of the time.
The value of The bamboo slips related to the scriptures can be sorted into three types. First, it solved the errors of contemporary text. The second value is reappearance of various ancient books lost for long time. Third, These bamboo slips show the original form of ancient Chinese studies.
The bamboo slips related to the documents can confirm how Qin"s administrative system was actually run, and it can confirm that the law-centered ideology of rule of the Qin Dynasty, which we knew, was also in fact heavily influenced by Confucian ideology. Lastly, The bamboo slips related to the documents can identify the various vocabulary words that existed at that time.
Since the discovery of such bamboo slips, many of the primary studies have been carried out, such as bamboo slips form, character decoding, and conceptual interpretation, and have achieved considerable results based on these findings. These achievements have greatly contributed to rectifying the errors or misconceptions of the existing original. However, it is necessary to systematically organize the large volumes of historical data that have emerged since the 1970s to more objectively identify academic and historical disputes or errors that have yet to be resolved, or new sources that will emerge. It should also be linked to the original version to focus on revealing the original meaning of the various concepts that existed at that time, or the original form of historical events or phenomena.
