Background
As interests in home robots are recently increasing rapidly, competition is intensifying among companies for home robot development. In addition, with social changes such as the increase of one-person households and advent of aging society and change in user’s desire to invest in themselves for the enjoyment of their lives, the home robot is expected to be even more popularized in the future. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate what kinds of home robot services users really want and to drive the concept of home robot services.
Methods
First, this study drew out service areas and trends by conducting a literature review and case studies regarding home robots. Second, it classified users based on their characteristics and lifestyles. Third, it was found core needs and service insights by conducting research on user experience of the classified users. User experience research was conducted by dividing it into the research on user experience at home and the research on user experience of home robots. Finally, concept of home robot services was drawn out by using card sorting based on the results of the research on the fields of home robot services, trends and user experience.
Result
A total of 10 concepts were drawn out; safeguarding home for reassurance, efficient automation system, caring for children to relieve anxiety, communicating for a harmonious family, convenient and easy housework, enjoyable learning edutainment, real-time monitoring anytime and anywhere, lifelogging to record daily activities, companion with whom to exchange feelings and emotions and health manager which helps taking care of health.
Conclusion
This study has significant meaning in that it suggests the directions of services for home robots which users genuinely want by conducting multi-faceted and in-depth investigations. And the results can be used to seek out designs of home robot services and directions for development of home robots.

연구배경
최근 들어 가정용 로봇에 대한 관심이 급증하면서, 가정용 로봇 개발을 위한 기업들의 경쟁이 치열해지고 있다. 또한 1인 가구의 증가 및 고령화 사회 진입이라는 사회적인 변화와 인생의 즐거움을 위해서 자기 자신에게 아낌없이 투자하는 사용자 욕구 변화로, 가정용 로봇이 대중화될 것으로 예측되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사용자들이 진정으로 원하는 가정용 로봇 서비스가 무엇인지를 알아보고, 이를 통해 가정용 로봇 서비스의 방향성을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다.
연구방법
본 연구에서는 먼저 가정용 로봇과 관련한 문헌 및 사례 조사를 진행하여 서비스 분야와 트렌드를 정리하였다. 다음으로 사용자의 특성과 라이프스타일에 따라 사용자를 분류하고 이를 대상으로 사용자 경험 조사를 진행하여 코어 니즈와 서비스 인사이트를 발견하였다. 사용자 경험 조사는 가정에서의 사용자 경험 조사와 가정용 로봇에 대한 사용자 경험 조사로 나뉘어 진행되었다. 이상에서 조사된 내용들을 기반으로 카드 소팅을 활용하여 가정용 로봇의 서비스 컨셉을 도출하고 각각의 의미를 정리하였다.
연구결과
도출된 컨셉은 안심시켜주는 집안 지킴이, 효율적인 자동화 시스템, 걱정을 덜어주는 자녀돌보미, 화목한 가정을 위한 소통, 편리한 가사노동, 즐거운 학습의 에듀테인먼트, 언제 어디서나 실시간 모니터링, 일상을 기록하는 라이프로깅, 감정을 교류할 수 있는 반려친구, 건강관리를 돕는 건강관리사로 총 10개였다.
결론
본 연구에서는 사용자들이 진정으로 원하는 가정용 로봇 서비스의 방향성을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해서 가정용 로봇의 서비스 사례와 트렌드 조사를 기반으로 사용자 유형 분류를 통한 사용자 경험 조사를 진행하여 가정용 로봇 서비스의 방향성을 제안하는 컨셉을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 사용자에 대한 다각적이고 심층적인 조사로 사용자들이 진정으로 원하는 가정용 로봇의 서비스 방향을 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다.
