The purpose of this study was to understand the expression types and characteristics of logo applied design reappearing in modern fashion and examine the meanings in the fashion. Such information was found in the literature review on logo concepts and backgrounds that rendered logo usage in the design and the case study on designs using the logo covering 2017S/S-2019F/W. Results indicated the following. Logo usage background leading to its re-appearance in modern fashion is a part of the 1990s trend revival and reinterpretation of retro vibes called newtro trend re-analyzing eagerness for the past, the substitution of designers in many fashion brands and resulting change in logo, and the changed fashion environment into image-based medium, for example, social media. Thus, the expressive type using the logo in the fashion design shows: logo emphasis recalling the retro vibes or large logo including enlargement of size, monograms with many variations, and artwork stressing the artful image based on graffiti, change of character font, deconstruction of logo and the one-point graphic. Design using a logo in this way reflects the internal meaning in that it is a medium sharing emotion beyond generations and is a means of expressing the differentiated preference and personality and strategic tool for re-branding fused with the spirit of age. This study facilitated in reassuring the importance of logos and assessing the possibility of unlimited applications of it as a key element in developing the differentiated design.
