In the overseas communication of Chinese culture, Confucius Institute is a very important carrier. But in recent years, there are more and more voices against Confucius Institute, which also faces many questions and disputes. This study analyzes about 5022 keywords of "Confucius Institute" on Facebook with the emotion analysis of Python language, trying to show the current situation of Confucius Institute's overseas communication. In this paper, we first use Python web crawler technology to crawl the "Confucius Institute" keyword on Facebook, then preprocess all the numbers, filter out the useless information, use R language emotion analysis algorithm to calculate the score of each post, and draw a visual emotion score change chart according to the score. It is found that netizens have a positive attitude towards the discussion of "Confucius Institute", but there are still many negative comments and distortions of the image and nature of Confucius Institute.
