Nigeria's soaring oil prices in the 1970s led to a huge influx of oil dollars, but wealth did not go as far as the people, and economic poverty increased in the course of 28 years of military rule, leading to a widespread trend of dividendism. And with frequent terrorist attacks on Boko Haram, a terrorist organization based in the northeast, there are severe security concerns, and the Niger Delta Liberation Organization, based in the south, continues to kidnap our workers or foreigners solely for ransom. But Nigeria is also a bridgehead for Korea's advance into Africa and an important partner in resource diplomacy. In particular, Korean companies have entered the Niger Delta area to develop deep-sea oil fields and gas. In addition, the recent revitalization of economic exchanges with Nigeria has led to the expansion of regional business support projects and international cooperation agency support projects, which have led to the continued increase of our workers, but the solution is urgent as hostage-taking cases continue. As a countermeasure, we propose to increase the number of police officers to two or three to three as a protection for overseas Koreans, as there may be insufficient proper response in case of various incidents. In addition, the Niger Delta, which has the largest presence of Korean companies, will work with the local state government to carry out an aid project to clean up farmland, sea, etc. contaminated by oil leakage, so that we can consider enhancing the image of our companies by mitigating environmental pollution problems with our company. It should also seek ways to contribute to the economic development of the two countries by expanding projects to support local residents through private companies to help ease inconveniences for the people of Nigeria. However, since international development cooperation and cooperation projects by private companies and local governments are not fundamental solutions to hostage-taking, the U.N. Security Council should actively participate in the terrorist attack resolution, which is a package of sanctions, including financial sanctions against terrorist organizations
