The purposes of this research were to analyze the hand of women's blouses and shirts fabrics through objective evaluation and to provide basic information for the product planning of blouse and shirts fabrics. Forty-four fabrics used for blouse and shirts materials were selected on the market. 10 kinds of cotton, 1 cotton blend, 13 silk, 4 silk blends, 1 rayon, 4 tencels, 1 tencel blend, 10 kinds of polyester fabrics were selected. Selected fabrics were all woven and categorized to light-weighted fabrics. They had a variety of density, thickness, and touch. KES-FB system were used to measure the physical and mechanical properties of fabrics. The primary hand value and total hand value(THV) were calculated by KN-202-LDY. The experimental results were analyzed statistically to relate the hand values and the mechanical properties of various fabrics depending on fiber content, and concerning to surface property and drapability which were found major factors determining the subjective hand of fabrics from the results of previous research.(중략)
